Dip I Hyp NLP
Hypnosis is a completely natural state, a combination of deep relaxation, concentration and
imagination makes the subconscious mind highly responsive to suggestions and change. When you
are hypnotised the conscious part of your mind is occupied which allows positive hypnotherapy
suggestions to be successfully installed into the subconscious mind.
When you find yourself immersed in a good book or film, or when you are on a train looking out of
the window and you realize you can not remember the last two stops because you were lost in a
daydream. That is a light state of hypnosis.
And Does Hypnosis & NLP Work?
Hypnosis and NLP can work quickly and effectively. This is because memories, thoughts, habits and
behaviours, reside in the subconscious. By accessing the subconscious mind, all of the above can be
accessed, new behaviours can be learned, old destructive habits can be banished, painful thoughts
and memories can be eliminated or managed.
By using the techniques of Clinical Hypnotherapy & NLP positive change is possible. However, one
vital ingredient must be in the mix, as I mentioned above it is: The power of positive thinking.
What Does it Feel Like?
On entering the hypnotic state you may feel that you are sinking into the chair, or you may feel
lightness in your limbs, or just totally relaxed, everyone is different.
The hypnosis trance state can feel like being in a movie but instead of just a visual experience it can
be a total sensory experience. In the hypnotic state you can be taken on an inner journey full of
visual imagry and self awareness, more able to view yourself from a different perspective.
The point is you are not shackled by your physical form, we are dealing with your subconscious, and
your subconscious can go anywhere and experience anything. Just like when you read a book, your
subconscious materialises an entire world in your head which feels as real as any other world.
Is It Safe?
Hypnotherapy and NLP is very safe. In fact most people find it an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable
experience. Hypnosis is a natural state, and all hypnosis is basically self hypnosis. The hypnotist
gives the suggestions and guides you but you are in control at all times, it is impossible for you to do
anything that you do not want to do. This is not stage hypnosis, you will not be quaking like a duck,
unless you want to of course, and then I would probably refer you to someone else. The people who
enter into the hypnotists show are out for a good time anyway and are ready to enter into the spirit
of things.
However, it is not recommended for people who are on medication for mental issues or suffer from
epilepsy, or quack like ducks. If in doubt please consult your doctor before making a booking.
Can You Get Stuck in Hypnosis?
No, you will always be in control, and as your therapist I will gently guide you through what will be a
very relaxing journey.
Will I Remember My Hypnotherapy Session?
You will remember most of the hypnotherapy session, and parts you will forget. It doesn't matter if
you don't remember, as the suggestions have been planted into your subconscious mind. However
pieces of the session will probably filter through to your conscious mind as the days go by.
I Cant’t Be Hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a natural state and as such nearly everyone can be hypnotised, it is also something you
can practice and get better at. With hypnotherapy only a very light state of hypnosis is required for it
to be effective. Also people do not go to a hypnotherapist to bet on whether they can be hypnotised
or not, they go because they have a problem that no one else can help them with, and they want
that area of concern resolved.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
In some cases just one or two sessions is all that is needed. I teach all clients how to self hypnotise
so they can back up the treatment at home to increase their chances of success. Other clients may
need up to six sessions for deep rooted issues, but usually no more than that.
